Managed cross function/organization teams to deliver cross region products (EU, Korea, China)
- Responsible for budget planning/control and on-time delivery of each program (creating, tracking and controlling schedule, budget and engineering resources.)
- Guided HP AP manufacturing organizations (Singapore and China teams) to setup product lines for special OEM programs
- Negotiated contracts with ODM/CDM vendors and guided ODM’s engineering teams in product development.
Managed relation with OEM customers:
- Provide guidelines to setup and control development process in our key Chinese OEM customers to co-develop final products with HP/CDM teams
- Directed with HP supply chain to ensure on time delivery of OEM products and to minimize inventory risk. Worked with 3PL to resolve logistic issues in China.
- Managed IP information among HP, ODM vendors and OEM customers.
Managed QA initiatives for OEM products, e.g. setup a QA system to align expectations and practices among OEM, CM and CDM from initial product design to large volume production stability.
Transferred development knowledge to AP for OEM product development. Enabled OPG Asia team to have a portfolio of development capabilities as assets. Now we can develop easy products with low system gross margin and also develop complicated products with high system gross margin.

Project Manager, Specialty Printing Div (1999– 2000)
Project manager on development and release of TIJ2.0 OEM inkjet print engine (used by Panasonic, Daewoo, Samsung, and etc). Coordinated final qualification and HP R&D to CM mfg transfer. Developed QA system at CM.
Lead system engineer responsible for consulting on system issues of all ongoing SPS projects.
Modified traditional PLC (product life cycle) to better fit OEM product development needs.
Key party to resolve engineering related crisis at OEM site. Timely resolved many urgent line-down issues at customer site. Worked with supply chain and sales team to minimize damage.

R&D Engineer, Inkjet Business Unit (Inkjet Print Head) (1995-1999)
Reliability Strategy Development and Implementation: Worked with engineers across function to develop the reliability strategy for long life print head. Failure analysis. Developed a reliability model for field warranty return prediction and manufacturing line production capability prediction.
Familiar with using DOE, statistical process control and other analytical tools in development.
Mechanical Design: Plastic part design of 3rd generation ink jet print head. Parts designed include fluid interconnect components, print head body, filter carrier. Multiple patents awarded.
Production Tooling Design: Designed the tooling on proto-line for the component assembling. Worked with manufacturing engineers to define and qualify the corresponding large volume line tools.
Worked closely with HP supply chain to qualify new vendors, new materials and vendor processes. Granted 4 patents

Worked with manufacturers and other standard agencies, e.g. UL, etc., to develop new and modify existing safety standards.
Evaluated mechanical equipment design in order to approve their use in Los Angeles.
